SeeMe Beauty tips on brightening your complexion

Don’t let anything dull your skin complexion!

Everyone wants The Glow. But then life happens (and boy, sometimes does it!)…when everything from our habits to our hormones can dull our natural radiance. We’ve rounded up four common culprits that can leave your skin less vibrant and the fast fixes that’ll have you looking brighter with radiant skin in no time.

The culprit: Dry Skin

How to beat it: Invest in a facial moisturizer formulated specifically for dry, mature skin to help even skin tone. Some plant extracts, like dill (found in the  SeeMe Beauty SeeMe Complex), act as a natural moisturizer, providing much-needed hydration and boosting firmness. You can eat your way to clearer skin, too: Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to help skin lock in moisture. In fact, in one small study women with sensitive skin who consumed half a teaspoon of omega-3-rich flaxseed oil once a day for 12 weeks reported a significant decrease in skin roughness and an increase in skin hydration.

The culprit: Hyperpigmentation (dark spots)

How to beat it: Spot treat dark spots on your skin with a vitamin C lotion. Hyperpigmentation occurs when there’s an overproduction of melanin, which can be triggered by hormonal changes, acne scars, bug bites, or sun exposure. Research has shown that vitamin C is effective at counteracting the issue by helping to lighten dark spots and reduce further discoloration. And just as important: Wearing an SPF30 sunscreen daily, rain or shine, will help keep hyperpigmentation away.

The culprit: Hormone fluctuations

How to beat it: Amp up the antioxidants. When estrogen levels decline during menopause, it’s not uncommon to notice changes in your skin tone—your once smooth complexion may become dull and uneven. Antioxidants can help improve overall texture and tone by diminishing the appearance of dark spots and fine lines. (The  antioxidants in the SeeMe Complex were designed specifically to counteract the challenges of estrogen-depleted skin.)

The culprit: Dead skin cells

How to beat it: Exfoliate! Dead skin cells that build up on your skin over time will increasingly dim your glow. A gentle face scrub or peel can slough off those cells to reveal a smoother, clearer complexion. Proof that gorgeous, radiant skin was yours all along!
